How did technology aid Egypt's food production?

There is evidence of early advanced systems of irrigation in Egyptian society. Advanced irrigation and the fertile lands around it in the times of Ancient Egypt allowed for Egypts agriculture to develop rapidly leading to the immense power and development of Ancient Egyptian society. Also the river served as an easy method of transportation of goods and food which further led to their development.
