During the Industrial Revolution, the urban middle class significantly improved their income and purchasing power while the working class lagged behind, often facing poor living conditions and stagnant wages. The middle class capitalized on economic opportunities presented by industrialization, while the working class struggled to share in those gains. This disparity has had lasting effects on socio-economic structures.
