When you subtract one square number from another, the answer is 12. What are the two square numbers?

4 squared-2 squared= 12

if you square 4 you get 16 then square 2 to get 4 then take them away you get 12 4 4=16 2 2= 4 16-4=12

The two square numbers that can be subtracted to yield a difference of 12 are 16 (from 4 2 ) and 4 (from 2 2 ). Only the pair derived from the factors (2, 6) produces valid integer results. No other integer pairs provide valid solutions.
