Why were Native Americans moved to smaller and smaller reservations in the 1850s?

Unfortunately, they were deemed to be useless as many Whites at that time brought Black slaves from West Africa. As land was taken away, they were driven to small parts-eventually a very small population remained.

Native Americans were moved to smaller reservations in the 1850s due to white settlers' expansion into their lands, unfulfilled treaty promises from the U.S. government, and military conflicts that led to forced removals. This resulted in tribes losing their ancestral lands and being confined to less productive areas. Economic dependency on the U.S. government further compounded their difficulties during this period.
