On a line segment, B is between A and C, and C is between B and D. Using the segment addition postulate, if \( AB = 7 \), \( AC = 15 \), and \( AD = 32 \), what do \( BC \), \( BD \), and \( CD \) equal?

Answer (3)

AB+AC=BC 7+15=BC BC=22
AB+AD=BD 7+32=BD BD=39
AC+AD=CD 15+32=CD CD=47

Using the segment addition postulate, the lengths can be calculated as follows: BC = 8 , B D = 25 , and C D = 17 .
