Red apples + green apples = 39 apples 9 red apples + green apples = 39 apples OR Red apples = X Green apples = Y
X + Y = 39 9+Y= 39 Y= 30 (Subtract 9 from both sides)
ratio= 9/30 or 3/10 (reduce the fraction by dividing by 3)

The ratio of green apples sold to red apples sold is 10:3. This was calculated based on a total of 39 apples sold, with 30 being green and 9 red. Therefore, for every 10 green apples sold, there were 3 red apples sold.
