When finding area of a rectangle, you multiply width x length. width x length = area Width x 5.5 = 44 Divide both sides by 5.5 Width =8

The width of the rectangle is found by dividing the area by the length. Therefore, the width is 8 feet. This is calculated using the area formula A = L × W.
