What is the largest 5-digit number using only fours and eights?

Asked by trplet3

Answer (3)

if you are to make the largest number then it would be 88888
but if you have to use (for example) a mixture of three 4's and two 8's then it would be 88444
if you have to use any other combination then make sure the 8's come before the 4's
but if you had to use at least 1 of each then it would be 88884
but the answer from what i understand is 88888

The largest 5-digit number using only the digits 4 and 8 is 88888. You achieve this by using the digit 8 in all five positions. Any mixture will be smaller than 88888.
