Jim has 54 comic books. Steps: 1.You do 27/1 times 2/3 which equals to 54/3 2. 54/3 simplifies to 18 3. Since 18 would be Charles's number, you would do 18 times 3 4. 18 times 3 equals 54

let j be the number of comic books jim has. let c be the number of comic books charles has. let b be the number of comic books bob has. we know b = 27. c= 2/3 * 27 = 18 since charles has 2/3 many books of bob's 27. j= 3 * 18 = 54 since jim has three times as many books as charles.
Answer: Jim has 54 comic books.
Hope that helps . . .

Jim has 54 comic books. This is calculated by first finding that Charles has 18 books and then multiplying that by 3. So, Jim has three times as many as Charles.
