Six people share [tex]\frac{3}{5}[/tex] pound of peanuts equally. What fraction of a pound of peanuts does each person receive?

It would be 1/10. Because you divide 3/5 ,which gives you .6. Then divide .6/6 and you'll get .1 which turns into a fraction of 1/10

the amount of peanuts given was 3/5th of a pound of peanuts. there are 6 people amongst which this amount should be divided equally. therefore given amount should be divided by 6 so that each person gets an equal share amount present - 5 3 ​ of a pound divide by 6 5 3 ​ ∗ 6 1 ​ then numerators are multiplied by numerators and denominators multiplied by denominators 5 ∗ 6 3 ∗ 1 ​ = 30 3 ​ the fraction can be further simplified by dividing both numerator and denominator by common number which is 3 30/3 3/3 ​ = 10 1 ​ therefore fraction that each person receives is 1/10th of a pound
