What is \( x \) equal to in the equation \(-3x - 5y = -10\)?

we cannot find out what x is specifially since ther is another place holder but we can solve for x but manipluation the equation
-3x-5y=-10 add 10 to both sides 10-3x-5y=0 add 3x to both sides 10-5y=3x divide both sides by 3 (10-5y)/3=x so if you find y you can find x

x= − 5/ 3 y + 10/3 is what x equal

To find x in the equation − 3 x − 5 y = − 10 , isolate x by rearranging the equation to x = 3 10 − 5 y  . This shows that x depends on the value of y .
