Draw a line segment \(PQ\) of length 8 cm. Find \(\frac{1}{4}\) of \(PQ\) using a compass.

To help you answer: think about what makes a fourth. If you have a rectangular cake, how do you split it into four pieces?
To do so with the compass however, remember that the joining the points of intersection of intersecting circles with the same radius creates a perpendicular bisector.

To find 4 1 ​ of a line segment PQ of length 8 cm using a compass, first find its midpoint, dividing it into two segments of 4 cm each, and then find the midpoint of one of those segments to determine a length of 2 cm. This process divides the original segment into four equal sections. Thus, 4 1 ​ of the segment measures 2 cm.
