Is a trapezoid a square?

No, a trapezoid can't be a square. A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with two parallel sides, where a square is a regular quadrilateral with four equal sides and four equal (right) angles, which means that opposite sides are parallel. and all sides have the same length measure.

All squares are trapezoids. However there are some trapezoids which aren't squares.

A trapezoid is not a square because a trapezoid has at least one pair of parallel sides, while a square has four equal sides and four right angles. These differences in characteristics distinguish the two shapes from each other. Therefore, a trapezoid and a square cannot be the same shape.
