The difference between "x times x" and "x plus x" is that the former represents the square of x, while the latter sums x with itself. In mathematical terms, "x times x" can be written as x 2 , and "x plus x" can be expressed as 2 x . These operations yield different results, highlighting their distinct roles in mathematics.
