How do I solve this complex multi-step equation:

\[ 2x + (-2) = 10x - 4 \]?

All you have to remember is this. Reverse the operation. For example on this problem there is a -2 right? So reverse the operation and (REMEMBER: Always do what you did on one side to the other side) then you would have +2 on both sides. You do the same for variables and all of the numbers and result with 8x=2, so divide by 8 and get x=1/4

2x-2=10x-4 -8x=-2 x=1/4
