I need help with adding fractions.

Only the numerators are added if both has the same denominator. But if they have different denominators, all you have to do is find the smallest multiple of both numbers, so you multiply by whatever to get that on both the numerator and denominator.

Step 1: Make sure the bottom numbers (the denominators) are the same.
Step 2: Add the top numbers (the numerators), put that answer over the denominator.

To add fractions, you can simply add the numerators if the denominators are the same. If the denominators are different, find the Least Common Denominator (LCD), convert each fraction to have that common denominator, and then add the numerators. Always remember to simplify your answer if possible.
