The Federalist Party lost support after the War of 1812 due to its opposition to the war, which was unpopular in the Northeast where they were mainly based. The Hartford Convention, seen as unpatriotic, along with internal divisions and the rise of the Democratic-Republican Party, further contributed to their decline. These events culminated in the Federalist Party disappearing from the political scene by the end of the 1810s.
