its simple. make sure that the denominators are the same and then you add the top numbers only and leave the denominator the same. ex. 4+ 2= 8 6 6 can be turn into 8 by multiplying 2 4 6 8 then you also have to multiply the top by the same number

Find a common denominator and whatever you multiplied the denominator by, you multiply the numerator by, but if it has a common denominator, just add the numerator.

To add fractions, first find the least common denominator, then adjust each fraction to have that common denominator. After that, add the numerators together and place them over the common denominator, simplifying if necessary. For example, adding 4 1 ​ + 6 1 ​ results in 12 5 ​ .
