Jared bought a package of pens containing 20 pens. If \(\frac{3}{4}\) of the pens had black ink, how do you determine the number of pens with black ink?

wouldn't you take .75 multiplied by 20? .75 is 3/4 obviously.

well 1/4 of the pens would be 5 (20/4=5) so 3/4 would be 5x3= 15 15 of the pens have black ink

Jared has 20 pens, and \( \frac{3}{4} \) of them are black ink pens. By calculating \(\frac{3}{4} \times 20\text{ pens} = 15\text{ pens}\), it shows that 15 pens have black ink.
