The marriage of prince Ferdinand and queen Isabella created Spain .
It took place on 19 October 1469 , when Isabella was only six years old, also, the two were second cousins. Because of that, in order for the union to happen, a Papal Bull was required. It was obtained thanks to the help of the Valencian cardinal Rodrigo Borgia (later Alexander VI).
