If \(3t - 7 = 5t\), then solve for \(6t\).

How do I solve this? I've tried finding help online, but I'm getting more confused.

Answer (2)

3 t − 7 = 5 t / + 7 3 t − 7 + 7 = 5 t + 7 3 t = 5 t + 7 / − 5 t 3 t − 5 t = 5 t − 5 t + 7 − 2 t = 7 / : ( − 2 ) t = − 2 7 6 t = 6 ⋅ ( − 2 7 ) = 3 ⋅ ( − 7 ) = − 21

To solve 3 t − 7 = 5 t , first isolate t to find t = − 2 7 and then calculate 6 t = − 21 .
