Two liters of water are poured into an empty rectangular tank with a length of 25 cm and a width of 20 cm. The water completely fills the tank without overflowing. Calculate the depth of the tank.

Answer (2)

1 litre = 1000 cm³
thus, 2 litre = 2000cm³
volume = lbh
2000cm³ = 25 x 20 x h
2000cm³ = 500 x h
Thus, h = 4 cm.
Thus, the depth of tank is 4 cm

The depth of the tank is calculated to be 4 cm. This is determined by using the volume of 2 liters of water converted to cubic centimeters and the dimensions of the tank. By applying the formula for the volume of a rectangular prism, we find that the height (depth) is 4 cm.
