What is the simplest form of [tex]\frac{6}{18}[/tex]?

Asked by sprinkles

Answer (3)

All you have to do is divide both numbers (ones they both can go in).
Let's try 2. 6/2 = 3 18/2 = 9
We get 9 3 .
A number still can go into both numbers evenly. 3 can go into both numbers.
3/3 = 1 9/3 = 3 We finally get 3 1 .
Hope this helped :)

to convert a fraction into simplest form, we divide both the numbers by their HCF
HCF of both these numbers is 6.
Thus we divide them by 6
6/6 = 1 18/6 = 3
Thus the answer is 1/3
