Bradford has an aquarium with a base that is 22 inches x 12 inches and a height that is 15 inches.

1. What is the volume of the aquarium?
2. Would the volume of the aquarium change if it did not have a lid? Explain.

What you would do first is multiply 22in times 12in, which is 264 i n 2 .
Then, you would do that times 15in, which is 3960 i n 3 .
So, the answer to the first question is 3960 i n 3 .
The next answer would be that no, the volume would not change because taking off the lid will not change how much the aquarium can hold.

The volume of the aquarium is 3960 cubic inches. The volume would remain the same even without a lid, as the internal dimensions do not change. A lid influences other factors, but not the volume capacity itself.
