Poor people didn't really get mummified. Only the rich and high class people!

The process of mummification for poor Egyptians was a simplified version compared to what was afforded by wealthier individuals. While the mummification of the elite involved the removal of internal organs, treatment with aromatic oils, and elaborate wrapping, the process for those with fewer resources would have been less elaborate. As detailed record keepers, Egyptians knew that less affluent citizens could not afford the same extensive process. For the poorer individuals, the mummification process may have been quicker and involved more rudimentary methods such as simple drying and wrapping without the use of expensive oils or resins.
It is important to note that the standard of mummification varied drastically depending on social status. Egyptian nobility, such as the rulers from the various dynasties, invested significantly in the burial process, constructing elaborate tombs and pyramids. However, for common Egyptians, the process was likely much shorter and done with fewer resources, possibly focusing more on preservation and burial rather than reaching the artistic and eternal standards set by the tombs of the elite.
