Alex makes ceramic bowls to sell at a monthly craft fair in a nearby city. Every month, she spends $50 on materials for the bowls from a local art store. At the fair, she sells each completed bowl for a total of $25 including tax.

Which equation expresses Alex's profit as a function of the number of bowls that she sells in one month?

1. [tex]p(x) = 50x + 25[/tex]
2. [tex]p(x) = 15x + 25[/tex]
3. [tex]p(x) = 25x[/tex]
4. [tex]p(x) = 25x - 50[/tex]

the answer is p(x) = 25x - 50 profit = total selling price- cost x = number of bowls he must sell to make a profit if he sell 1 bowl he will make a lost 2 bowls even up thus he must sells 3 bowls or more to make a profit

Alex's profit from selling ceramic bowls can be expressed by the equation p ( x ) = 25 x − 50 . This equation reflects her total revenue minus her fixed material costs. She needs to sell at least 3 bowls to start making a profit.
