2:3:4 2:3:4 can be written as 2x:3x:4x
2x+3x+4x=180 9x=180 x=20
Therefore it is 40:60:80

The longest piece of wood is 80 cm long. It is part of a total of three pieces cut from a 180 cm long piece in the ratio of 2:3:4. The calculations show the lengths of the pieces as 40 cm, 60 cm, and 80 cm respectively.
