How can you tell just by looking whether a mixture in water is a solution or a suspension?

A solution is usually colourless and we do not see its constituent particles.
We can easily see constituent particles in a suspension.

You can tell if a mixture is a solution or a suspension by observing its clarity, whether the particles settle over time, and whether particles can be seen. A solution is clear and does not settle, while a suspension is cloudy and can settle. Additionally, a suspension can be filtered, but a solution cannot leave any residue.
