If James made a profit of $520 in the last month, he would make a profit of $520 x 2 = $1040 in the next month. Similarly, the profit for the third month would be $1040 x 2 = $2080. The three-month total profit would be $520 + $1040 + $2080 = $3640. ;

The equation for his currnet sales can be as follows: x=520*2^n n is the current month We are looking for the sum of next 3 months, so n+1, n+2 and n+3.
520 2^(n+1)+520 2^(n+2)+520 2^(n+3)=520 4+520 8+520 16=2080+4160+8320=14560

James will have a total profit of $7280 at the end of the next three months if his profits continue to double as they have in the past three months.
