Is the point (2, 2.5) on the graph of \( y = x + 2 \)? How do you know?

Asked by tbhsxmmer

Answer (3)

2 = x and 2.5 = y 2.5 = 2 + 2 2.5 DOES NOT EQUAL 4 so NO is your answer with all my works above :)

Make a table using three different numbers for x, then add 2 to each of them, there's ur y coordinate

The point (2, 2.5) is not on the graph of the equation y = x + 2 because substituting x = 2 gives y = 4 , which does not match 2.5. Thus, the answer is no.
