The Sepoy Rebellion in 1857 was largely fueled by British insensitivity toward Hindus and Muslims, particularly through the controversial use of animal fat in rifle cartridges and aggressive missionary activities. These actions provoked deep resentment among Indian soldiers, leading to widespread revolt against British authority. The uprising highlighted the profound cultural and religious disrespect felt by the sepoys.
