Let's start off with some key terms.
The number has 3 digits. Even numbers end with 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8. (Obviously)
The hundreds digit and ones digit are the same. First number in a 3 digit number is the hundreds , and the last number is the ones ****.
So, both of those two digits are the same and has to equal 8.
Well, 4 + 4 = 8
The hundreds place and the ones place are 4.
The tens digit is the middle number in a 3-digit number.
It is two numbers less than the ones digit. 4 − 2 = 2
The number is 424.

424 I know because 4+4=8 and 4-2= 2 so I figured 424

The 3-digit number is 424. The hundreds and ones digits are the same (4), and the tens digit is 2 less than the ones digit (2). Since it is even and meets all criteria, 424 is the correct answer.
