Fran cut her sandwich into 6 pieces. If Fran ate \(\frac{1}{3}\) of her sandwich, how many pieces did she eat?

Answer (3)

2 pieces :)
Not sure if you wanted work but here is my explanation:
there are six pieces that she cut out, and she ate 1/3 of the six pieces,
1/3=2/6
since there are 6 pieces 1/3 would then equal 2 pieces. :)
Hope this helps:)

Fran cut her sandwich into 6 pieces and ate 3 1 of it, which equals 2 pieces. Therefore, she ate 2 pieces of her sandwich. This calculation is done by multiplying the fraction by the total number of pieces.
