Conquistadors were drawn to the Americas by the quest for wealth, personal glory, and a religious mission to convert Indigenous peoples. These motivations were exemplified in the conquests of the Aztec and Inca Empires by Hernán Cortés and Francisco Pizarro. Ultimately, these factors combined to drive the European exploration and colonization of the New World.
