11.Kalimani, a flood-prone rural area, experienced heavy rainfall in April 2024. Youth volunteers
noticed early signs-rising river levels, dark clouds, strong winds, and soaked ground. They reported
these signs using early warning forms.
The Disaster Management Committee verified the report, alerted authorities, and used radios and
loudspeakers to warn the community. Residents evacuated to higher ground. Though property was
damaged, no lives were lost due to timely warning and response.
