Refer to the pH scale in your textbook and answer the following questions.

Does a pH of seven indicate more hydrogen ions than hydroxyl ions? If so, why? If not, on a pH of three?

Answer (1)

At a pH of 7, the concentrations of hydrogen and hydroxyl ions are equal, indicating a neutral solution. At a pH of 3, the concentration of hydrogen ions is much higher compared to hydroxyl ions, showing that the solution is acidic. This reflects the relationship between pH levels and ion concentrations in solutions. ;
