Generally, animals cannot digest the linkages between the glucose molecules in cellulose. How then do cattle get enough nutrients from eating grass?

Cows have 4 stomaches, so when they digest grass what they do is they regurgitate it into cud chew on that for a while then eat it again cycling though all the stomaches.

Cattle can digest grass despite its cellulose content due to their specialized four-chambered stomachs. Bacteria in the rumen help break down cellulose through fermentation, allowing cattle to absorb the necessary nutrients. This process involves multiple stages, including rumination, fermentation, and enzymatic digestion.
