It can cause deformations or second hand smoking to the baby which may cause cancer later on in life.

Nicotine exposure during pregnancy can lead to low birth weight in newborns. This is due to reduced blood flow and oxygen supply to the fetus caused by nicotine crossing the placenta. Staying away from smoking is vital for the health and proper growth of the developing fetus.
