In carbonated drinks, water is the solvent and various components like carbon dioxide, sugar, natural and artificial flavors, and preservatives act as solutes. This creates a mixture known as a solution, where the solutes are evenly distributed in the water. These components work together to give the drink its signature taste and fizz.
