It is true green algae is one of only a select amount of sea creatures that is able to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. That is why we have so much algae and why it's important to our everyday survival because it accounts for about 3-7% of all oxygen produced.

Green algae are essential as they are primary food producers and produce oxygen through photosynthesis. They convert sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water into glucose and oxygen, which benefits aquatic life and the atmosphere. Their role is vital in the ecosystem's food web and oxygen supply.
