The Mughal Empire was founded by Babur in 1526 after his victory in the First Battle of Panipat against Ibrahim Lodi. Babur, of Central Asian descent and a descendant of Timur and Genghis Khan, laid the foundation for a dynasty that significantly influenced Indian history. His use of innovative military tactics allowed him to defeat a larger army and establish Mughal rule in India.
